The Working Principle of Oil-Free Machines

May 11, 2026

An "oil-free machine" is a type of machinery that requires no lubricating oil. Unlike traditional mechanical systems, oil-free machines do not rely on conventional fuel oils for operation, nor do they require the addition of any lubricants during use; consequently, they embody significantly more eco-friendly and sustainable characteristics.

In traditional machinery, friction-generating components typically utilize lubricating oil to minimize wear caused by friction and to enhance mechanical efficiency. Oil-free machines, however, dispense with the need for lubricants, addressing frictional issues through the application of magnetic, pneumatic, or vacuum technologies. Specifically, magnetic levitation technology is employed to ensure zero physical contact between the electric motor and the compressor; aerostatic technology is utilized to endow the minute clearance between the piston and the cylinder block with load-bearing capacity; and-in a process known as "self-lubrication"-the high-temperature, high-pressure air itself serves to reduce friction and dampen noise.

Oil-free compressors are currently widely utilized across various industries, including healthcare, food processing, electronics, semiconductors, precision machinery, pharmaceuticals, cleanroom environments, and textiles. For these sectors, safety and environmental protection have consistently remained their foremost priorities.
