The selection of materials for screw air compressors directly impacts the equipment's durability, operational stability, and compression efficiency. Given that air compressors operate continuously under conditions of high temperature and high pressure, their core components typically utilize metal materials characterized by high strength and excellent wear resistance, thereby ensuring the equipment's long-term, stable operation.

 

Within the main compressor unit, the male and female rotors are generally fabricated from high-strength alloy steel or ductile iron. These components undergo precision machining and heat treatment processes to enhance their wear resistance and sealing effectiveness. The compressor casing is typically constructed from high-quality cast iron or aluminum alloy; these materials not only withstand high internal pressures but also possess excellent heat dissipation capabilities. For critical transmission components-such as bearings and gears-specialized steels exhibiting high hardness and fatigue resistance are predominantly employed to minimize mechanical wear during prolonged operation.

 

Regarding auxiliary systems, coolers are typically constructed from copper, aluminum, or stainless steel to enhance heat dissipation efficiency and corrosion resistance. Piping and air storage components are selected from materials-such as carbon steel or stainless steel-based on the specific operating environment. Furthermore, for air compressors utilized in the food, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries, materials offering superior rust prevention and anti-contamination properties are specifically selected. This ensures that the purity of the compressed air meets stringent industry standards, thereby enhancing both the overall safety and service life of the equipment.
